In our case, Jack can’t answer the phone, he stutters and it is really difficult for him to remember what he is being told.
Technically it would be like screening his calls for him with him declining all of them. So, this applies to his pharmacy which is really helpful. Again, this man pales and starts to shake when the phone rings. Also, any referrals to other doctors and tests. He is quite able to take his own calendar, but why put him through the phone call. His quality of life will go forward and fall back in small waves, but it is what it is, and we just keep accepting his state of mind. I take any out appointments for things like the bank etc. You get the idea. Not many people understand the connection he and I share. So, the moral of the story is as his wife and primary caregiver with the PA so many things can be handled makings it less awkward for him.
A broken mind in so many ways.
The brain book is a good read, but the variations of underlying lesser mental illnesses. No two people will be diagnosed the same. One person may be diagnosed differently by two different doctors. We found a great doctor who listened to what I was saying about his medications. The doctor made slow changes, and we saw improvement, so we are at a pretty good place medication wise. We have attended clinics and hospitals in several of the larger cities. Quality of life. So now we craft.
